Funeral services will be held Friday for longtime St. Martin Parish Sheriff Charles Fuselier, who died while on a trip to Texas this past weekend.
Sheriff Fuselier served from 1980 until he retired in 2003.
He oversaw the completion of a new parish jail and parish-wide 911 system, and was instrumental in establishing the nation’s first TRIAD program.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday at the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany in New Iberia.
Visitation is set for Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Pellerin Funeral Home.
Sheriff Fuselier was 73 years old.
