The Eunice Police Department continues to search for four suspects involved in a home invasion that happened earlier this week.

Shortly after 1:00 a.m. Wednesday morning police responded to a home invasion in the 400th block of Cotton Street.  Eunice Deputy Chief Varden Guillory says the suspects wore dark clothing and bandanas covering their faces.  They were also heavily armed.

“One suspect was armed with a pistol, the other three had shot guns and assault rifles.”

Fortunately there were no deaths but the two victims were forcibly robbed of their cell phones and cash.

“The two victims were forced to lie down in the living room, one of them was beaten and sustained minor injuries.”

Wednesday’s robbery sheds some light on a bigger picture.  Deputy Chief Guillory says home invasions have become a problem recently.  At least two have been reported in the last month.  But Guillory says Wednesdays incident is the most violent he’s seen so far.

“We’re concerned about the safety of everybody.””

The suspects are described as four black males wearing dark clothing and bandanas but their identities are still unknown.  Detectives are working to get more information.

“Questioning people, interviewing people, no arrests as of this time but it is an active case.”
