LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) –  Lafayette City Marshals have arrested a man in connection with a murder last year in the 300 block of Sunnyside Lane.

A grand jury indicted 43-year-old Thaddeux Comeaux on October 19, 2016, for one count of first-degree murder and one count of attempted first-degree murder from a incident that happened last summer

Deputy Marshal Phil Conrad said Comeaux contacted the marshal’s office on Monday and said he wanted to surrender himself to authorities.

Comeaux met a sergeant at the Lafayette City Marshal’s Office and was taken into custody without incident.

He was then transported and booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.

Comeaux was wanted in connection with the July 27, 2015, shooting death of 18-year-old Dravin Stevenson, of Lafayette.

A second victim, a 17-year-old was also injured in the shooting.

26-year-old Quentin J. Cooper was arrested on July 28, 2015, on the charge of principal to first-degree murder in connection with Stevenson’s death.

A second suspect, 37-year-old Lawrence Blackburn, committed suicide during a confrontation with police in Baton Rouge.
