A total of 16 people were arrested after a search warrant was executed at a home in the 500 block of Pecan Street in St. Martinville Thursday.
According to the St Martinville Police Chief Calder Herbert, the search happened just after 10:00 p.m. Police had been monitoring the home for suspicious activity for the past two weeks. When they finally entered, drugs and weapons were found within the property and in nearby vehicles.
Several people were in the home at the time and were taken to the St. Martinville police station for questioning.
Twelve individuals received a criminal summons for misdemeanor possession of controlled substances. Four individuals were booked into the St. Martin Parish Jail on felony charges.
