UPDATE:Suspect Arrested in Parking Lot Homicide
Lafayette, LA – Lafayette Police have arrested Jerry Ronald Seals (52) of Lafayette. Seals is being charge with 2nd Degree Murder for the shooting death of James Allen Orgeron (44) of Lafayette. Seals was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.
Suspect in Custody After Shooting on Parking Lot

Lafayette, LA – On February 14, 2015, at approximately 3:00 pm, Lafayette Police responded to a parking lot in the 4500 block of Johnston Street regarding a shooting. According to investigators, the 44 year old victim was sitting in a parking lot when the suspect drove up in a vehicle. The two men began arguing at which time the suspect produced a handgun and fired multiple shots, striking the victim. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect, a 52 year old male of Lafayette, was transported to the Lafayette Police Department for questioning. Investigators indicate that the two men were involved in an ongoing feud. The shooting remains under investigation.
