The husband of an up and coming local UFC fighter is wanted by Shreveport Police on a warrant alleging domestic abuse battery and false imprisonment.
Donny Aaron is accused of beating and choking his wife Andrea Lee inside their Shreveport home on August 5th.
Lee is a professional mixed martial arts fighter in the flyweight division.
In May she won her UFC debut by unanimous decision, defeating Veronica Macedo in Santiago, Chile. The fight aired nationally on Fox Sports 1. Aaron is Lee’s trainer.
According to an incident report, the morning of August 5th Shreveport Police were called to the couple’s home just after 6:00 a.m. regarding a domestic incident. Aaron was not at the scene.
According to Shreveport Police, an affidavit was filed with the District Attorney’s office seeking an arrest warrant for Aaron on August 10th.
Aaron is a former Greenwood Police office who was convicted of negligent homicide with a firearm back in 2009. Aaron shot an unarmed man multiple times in February of 2005 outside his home on Wildwood Drive. At the time, NBC 6 News reported that Aaron found the man rummaging through a car in his driveway. He claimed he felt the man was trying to go for a gun, which led to him opening fire.
The conviction brought jail time.
In early June of this year, the couple received national attention, and much online backlash, over a photo posted by Lee on Twitter.
The photo showed the couple at an area lake. In the photo, a swastika tattoo can clearly be seen on Aaron’s left forearm.
Aaron issued a response online to the backlash, explaining why the swastika tattoo remains.
“There is no defense or justification for the abhorrent tattoos that I ashamedly wear,” Aaron wrote. “My body is covered in tattoos that tell the story of where I have been, what I’ve gone through and what I’ve overcome. These ‘scars’ tell my history which include a dark time when I was in prison.”

Lee vehemently defended her husband of five-years online and at one point wrote those criticizing Aaron’s tattoos were, “sensitive ass (expletive)”.
Please read my full apology, this is to everyone who was upset or offended by me and my initial response. I sincerely apologize, it wasn’t thought out when I sent it, I deleted it immediately after I sent it when I was more rational and clear minded. 🙏 forgive me pic.twitter.com/9td65xNAmo— Andrea Lee (@AndreaKGBLee) June 3, 2018
NBC 6 News reached out to Lee about the warrant for Aaron’s arrest, but she said ‘no comment’.
Investigators with Shreveport Police Department’s Domestic Violence Unit were assigned to the case and following additional interviews, procured warrants for Aaron charging him with one count of Domestic Abuse Battery and one count of False Imprisonment. His bond totals $2,500.00. Investigators believe that Aaron may be in Georgia.
Police are asking anyone with information on Aaron’s exact whereabouts to contact investigators at 318-673-6955. Those wishing to submit information anonymously can contact Shreveport Caddo Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373
