ST. MARTINVILLE, La. (KLFY)-A St. Martin Parish man is facing several charges after a drug raid in Catahoula on Wednesday.

After several anonymous complaints of suspected illegal drug activity, narcotics agents with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division conducted a narcotics investigation in the 1000 block of St. Rita Hwy in Catahoula.

During the course of the investigation, agents found several illegal narcotics in plain view, and ultimately obtained consent from the residents to search the home.

During a subsequent search of the home, agents located suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, MDMA (Ecstasy), DMT, cocaine HCL, multiple firearms, and drug paraphernalia.  DMT (Dimethyltryptamine) is a hallucinogenic drug used recreationally and is not as commonly known as other illicit drugs.

Agents also located packaging materials consistent with illegal drug sales; and the amounts of some of the illegal narcotics located in the home were also consistent with illegal drug sales.

In addition to the narcotics charges, the suspect also faces additional charges due to a juvenile residing at the residence, and due to the residence being located in a drug free zone.
