
Rodricka S. Taylor is a multimedia journalist and reporter for KLFY News 10.
She is a Lafayette native who joined the team in 2021 after receiving her Master of Science in Journalism at Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. She is thrilled to be back in Acadiana!
Rodricka’s passion for people and storytelling began when she was in high school at Carencro High. She first fell in love with journalism as a writer.
Before graduating with honors from Dillard University in New Orleans, La., Rodricka spent time reporting in sports for Dillard University’s athletic department. She worked with Bleu News, DU-TV, and the Courtbouillon newspaper. She also worked with WBOK 1230 AM and WHIV 102.3 FM. In 2019, she interned at KLFY and was WayUp’s Top 100 intern. She also was a scholarship recipient for the Press Club of New Orleans in July 2019.
While at Medill, she was an anchor, reporter, and producer in Chicago’s #3 news markets, with CAN-TV sharing local news for ‘Chicago This Week’ and ‘Windy City Update.’
Some of Rodricka’s work highlights include Illinois Pretrial Fairness Act, Windy City Update Ep. 6, Protest of Chicago Union of the Homeless, and Medill Newsmakers: Dealing with autism in a Covid-19 Pandemic.
She is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists, Omicron Delta Kappa, National Council Negro Women (NCNW), Alpha Chi, Alpha Kappa Mu National Honor Society, Beta Kappa Chi Scientific Honor Society, and National Institute of Science National Honor Society.
Rodricka enjoys discovering new music, food, reading, and traveling. She loves to dance and sing. She was section leader and a mezzo-soprano in her school choir.
