LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – University of Louisiana Ragin Cajuns defeated Appalachian State for the Sunbelt Championship.

The Ragin Cajuns scored first with 9:55 left in the first quarter. Michael Jefferson caught a 27-year pass from Levi Lewis. Nate Snyder made the kick to put UL up 7-0.

End of First UL Leading 7-0.

Touchdown Ragin Cajuns as Levi Lewis runs 56 yards for the touchdown with 9:22 left in the second quarter. Score is now 14-0.

Appalachian State Cameron Peoples runs 43 yards and scores with just over two minutes left in the second quarter. UL leads 14-7.

Ragin Cajuns drive down the field in the final minute of the half to kick a 33 year field goal by Nate Snyder. UL 17-7.

HALFTIME: Ragin Cajuns go to the locker room leading 17-7.

Appalachian State started the second half with the ball. They drove down the field but Ragin Cajun defensive lineman Tayland Humphrey steps up big to stop them. App State kicked a field goal. UL leads 17-10.

Ragin Cajuns took their first possession of the second half and drove down the field. only to be stopped on 4th and two at the 21 yard line. UL leads 17-10.

At the end of the 3rd Quarter UL leads 17-10.

Ragin Cajuns start the 4th quarter with a drive down the field. Then Emani Baily runs 35 yards for the touchdown. UL leads 24-10.

App State drives down the field and scores on a 4th and 10 from 24 yards out. They go for 2 points and UL stops them. UL leads 24-16.

Ragin Cajuns win the Sun Belt Championship 24-16. Billy Napier wins his last game as the Ragin Cajuns coach.
