ABBEVILLE, La. (KLFY) It’s Thursday, and that means another edition of Acadiana Eats. This week, News 10’s Gerald Gruenig is all about seafood and so he tries a stack of drum filet, crab cakes, shrimp and an oyster sampler from Shucks in Abbeville. Let’s check it out.
Since 1995 Shuck’s in Abbeville has been serving up some of the freshest seafood South Louisiana has to offer and owner Bert East is making sure my first meal at Shucks is a memorable one.
The drum stacker is a gorgeous freshly seasoned drum filet, a house made crab cake, fresh louisiana shrimp, all grilled and finished off with a red pepper dill cream sauce…
Shuck’s super sampler is next and it’s traditional chargrilled oysters, candied chargrilled oysters, oysters rockafeller, oysters shucka fella, the oysters supreme.
And their rough neck chargrilled oysters, the last menu item Bert is cooking for me it’s fresh red fish.
That’s cut, seasoned and then topped with garlic butter.
The red fish is put in the oven for 20 minutes at 400 degrees.
Bert adds their pepper glaze then grills up one of his favorite sides.
