
Karaski (kuh-RA-skee) Melvin serves as a special contributor to the First and 10 television show.
But that is one of many hats he wears.
He also is the producer for News 10 at 6 Monday through Friday and News 10 at Noon/Meet Your Neighbor.
He is a web producer for klfy.com as well.
Karaski was born in Lafayette, but grew up in Ville Platte, Chataignier, and Mamou, graduating from Mamou High School in 2003.
He studied broadcast journalism at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism.
While there, he wrote for the university newspaper, The Current Sauce.
Karaski also reported and anchored News, weather and sports for the school television show NSU 22.
He even did play-by-play for football and volleyball.
In 2016, Karaski began work as videographer at KLFY.
During that time, he got to enjoy the high school football experience, by shooting and editing football highlights.
A couple of years later, Karaski made his on air debut, reporting on football games across Acadiana.
He also anchors sports on the weekends.
