ST. MARTINVILLE, La. (KLFY) – UPDATE:
A shooting at the intersection of Port & LaSalle Streets in St. Martinville has lead to the arrests of five individuals.
It happened around 1:40 p.m. Friday. Police say they received a call of shots fired near the Canal Station, and moments later the victim of the shooting drove himself to the Police Station for assistance.
The victim has been identified as Mike Zeno. Police say Zeno was talking to officers in the very short time it took for the ambulance to arrive and transport him to a medical facility. The only information Zeno provided was a description of the vehicle.
From that point, SMPD Detectives & Patrol Officers began hitting the streets and interviewing all known persons associated with subject vehicle.
After hours of investigations by SMPD Detectives, information led to the vehicle being located at a motel in Natchez, MS. Shortly before midnight, with the assistance of Adams County Sheriff’s Office Swat team, five individuals were arrested without incident.

ORIGINAL: Police are looking for the suspect who shot and injured a man at a gas station this afternoon in St. Martinville.
The incident happened around 2 p.m. near the intersection of West Port Street and Lasalle Street.
Police Chief Calder Hebert said the suspect is driving a maroon late 1990s/early 2000s model Honda Accord.
The victim drove himself to the police station after being shot in the side of his body. Hebert said the victim was transported to a local hospital.
