Interstate 10 welcome signs could soon be showing love to the black and gold. Lawmakers in Baton Rouge agreed welcome signs along the Texas and Mississippi state lines should announce drivers have entered the, “Home of the Who Dat Nation”.
The bill, introduced by New Orleans Sen. Wesley Bishop, was passed by a 35-0 Senate vote on Tuesday. The bill also calls for a Saints-themed sign at the Superdome exit on I-10 in downtown New Orleans.
The House added a provision to the bill, renaming Hwy. 90 from Lafayette to Raceland as “Governor Kathleen Babineaux Blanco Highway,” honoring the former Louisiana governor.
The signs must be paid using local or private funds for installation.
