UPDATE: Lafayette Police say the victim, 48-year-old Frederick Richardson has died due to his injuries.

The incident is now being investigated as a homicide.

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY)- Police are investigating a shooting at the Super 7 Inn on the 2100 block of the NW Evangeline Thruway.

Officer were called to the motel at about 2:15 p.m. where a victim was found suffering from at least one gunshot wound, LPD spokesperson Cpl. Bridgette Dugas said. 

The arrests have been made at this time. The victim remains in critical condition. 

Anyone with information about this shooting is asked to call the Lafayette Police Department or Lafayette Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
