LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY)- UPDATE: Congestion has reached approximately nine miles in length but all lanes are clear.

ORIGINAL: Interstate 10 west is closed at Interstate 49 due to a vehicle crash. According to the Department of Transportation, traffic congestion has reached five miles.

Drivers are advised to take alternate routes, including exiting at I-49 north.
