JEFFERSON DAVIS PARISH, La. (KLFY)— Deputies arrest a Jennings man after locating narcotics in his Oldsmobile during a traffic stop, authorities said.

According to a news release, patrol units with the Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office stopped an Oldsmobile on Hwy 90 on Nov. 4.

During the stop deputies said they spoke with the driver, identified as Kenneth Dwayne Rudd, and observed his “nervousness and inability stand in one place”. Deputies described the Rudd’s hands as “sweaty and shaking”.

Deputies said that they were given permission to search the vehicle after asking the Rudd.

A news release stated that the search revealed the driver had a pipe in his pocket. Officials said Rudd admitted that the pipe was used to smoke methamphetamine.

The search of the vehicle led deputies to discover drugs which included Xanax pills, and crystal methamphetamine, said officials.

Kenneth Dwayne Rudd, 41, of Jennings was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of schedule II CDS with intent to distribute and possession of schedule IV CDS with intent to distribute.

Rudd was booked into the parish jail with no bond.
