Opelousas’ Former Police Chief taking on new role within the department

Opelousas Police Chief Martin McClendon has announced that he has hired former police chief Perry Gallow as a Reserve Police Officer.

According to McClendon, Gallow will help the Motorcycle Division escorting funerals and parades throughout the city.

Gallow has an extensive law enforcement career of more than 28 years, including serving as Opelousas Police Chief from 2010-2014.  

He lost a tough election in 2014 to the now former Police Chief Donald Thompson who was defeated this past November. 

” I have called for #AllHandsOnDeckand Gallow has answered the call #ServeAndProtect,” McClendon said.
