A mother and father were arrested and accused of abusing their three-month-old son.
The father, Jordan Vidrine was arrested and charged with cruelty to a juvenile.
The mother, Deborah Pellegrin was arrested and charged with 2nd-degree cruelty to a juvenile.
According to deputies on January 23, they responded to a call at a hospital in reference to a possible cruelty to a juvenile.
Upon deputies’ arrival, they were told by hospital staff there was a baby in the emergency room who had bruising throughout his entire head, eyes, ears, back, and inside his mouth and laceration on his lip.
Hospital staff also advised deputies the injuries to the baby varied in stages of healing.
During the investigation, detectives spoke with Vidrine who reportedly admitted to striking the baby in the head but said “he was aiming for a dog, not the boy,” and was not sure how his son received those injuries
After further investigation, Vidrine was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center.
Two days later Pellegrin was arrested.
The baby boy was placed in state custody by the Department of Children & Family Services.
