RAYNE, La. (KLFY)- A husband and wife were arrested Tuesday on for allegedly abusing a 75-year-old woman suffering from dementia. 

Deputies with the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office received a report of elderly abuse within Acadia Parish. The investigation revealed that a caregiver physically abused the victim. 

Investigators secured arrest warrants for a Rayne couple who were taken into custody without incident. Arrested were John and Chasitty Mullins.

Chasitty Mullins, 48, was charged with cruelty to the infirmed. Her bond was set at $75,000. John Mullins, 55, was charged with accessory after the fact of cruelty of the infirmed with bond at $10,000.

Both were booked into the Acadia Parish Jail.
