SCOTT, La. (KFLY)– Two have been arrested in Scott after police searching a residence found an alleged meth lab.
Authorities with the Scott Police Department say officers were searching a residence on the 1200 block of St. Mary Street.
While searching, officers say they discovered a variety of narcotics which included methamphetamine, prescription medication, marijuana, and a large amount of drug paraphernalia.
According to a news release, officers with the department also found what appeared to be a clandestine lab inside a gym type bag. Police believe it was utilized to manufacture methamphetamine.
Officers say they notified the Lafayette Fire Department’s Haz-Mat Response Team to assist after finding the chemicals. Lafayette Haz-Mat and Scott PD say after a thorough search a clandestine lab presence was confirmed.
Authorities say they recovered from the residence flammable liquids, corrosive liquids, acids, allergy medications, and several other items utilized in the manufacturing of methamphetamine.
Scott Police arrested Jason Bedsole, 37, of Lafayette, and Sarah Fournet, 30, of DeRidder. Police say after questioning the suspects, both were transported to the Lafayette Parish correctional Center.
Both suspects were charged with possession with intent to distribute schedule II, possession of schedule I, possession of schedule II, possession of schedule IV, possession of drug paraphernalia, operation of a clandestine lab, and possession of a legend drug.
Police added that Bedsole was also charged with an unrelated open warrant.
