UPDATE, 4:12 p.m.: Fourteen inmates and one former inmate were arrested as part of today’s announcement on racketeering charges in the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center.
Those inmates currently in jail were listed as follows: Daylon Alexander, 40, Kieon Alexander, 23, Marshall Alexander, 42, Quincy Alexander, 42, Hayven Augillard, 33, Joshua Dardar, 40, Austin Granger, 21, Arlondo Henson, 49, Brenan Jean Batiste, 19, Homer John, 38, Kentrell Ledet, 27, Demarcus Smith, 21, Javonty Williams, 21, Gerald Zenon, 39
Danah Thibodeaux, 29, was released prior to the culmination of the investigation and was arrested this morning.
All 15 suspects were charged with racketeering activity, which includes the following four charges:
- Manufacture and distribution of synthetic marijuana.
- Manufacture and distribution of Schedule IV substances
- Money laundering
- Introduction of contraband into a penal institution
All of the individuals were booked on the above charges with the exception of Daylon Alexander, who was extradited to a correctional facility in Texas during the course of the investigation, according to Capt. Ginny Higgins. Alexander will be extradited at a later date to the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center where he will be booked in on the above charges.

ORIGINAL POST: ST. MARTINVILLE, La. (KLFY)- A two-month-long narcotics investigation nabbed more than a dozen suspects now facing racketeering and illegal controlled substance charges related to a drug ring connected to the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center.

St. Martin Parish Sheriff Becket Breaux said additional arrests are expected. Breaux held a press briefing Monday afternoon to announce the continued investigation efforts.
Breaux said the suspects involved could face up to 50 years in prison if convicted.
He said the correctional facility is now “clean” of illegal narcotics.
