(The Advertiser)-Family and friends have established a Facebook page, Help Find Kyle Hall, as they continue to search for the Lafayette man.

According to the page, Hall and his navy blue van were seen at Lowe’s in Opelousas around 12:30 p.m. Feb. 4.

It is the last known sighting of Hall. Prior to that, he had not been seen or heard from since Feb. 3, when he was known to be at the Walmart on the Evangeline Thruway in Lafayette. He has not been in touch with family or friends since then.

Today, Lafayette Police spokesman Karl Ratcliff told KLFY that there is no new information on the missing persons investigation. “At this time, we don’t have any reason to believe that he is in danger.”

Over the weekend, Hall’s relatives posted flyers throughout Lafayette in the hopes that someone has seen him. They have also noted that Hall is 6 feet 6 inches tall, and hope his unique height may make him more noticeable.

Hall was last seen at the Walmart on the Evangeline Thruway in a navy blue Mazda van, his sister Loni Hall said.

Loni Hall said her brother left his Lafayette home without his phone, backpack, notebooks and other items he typically carries with him.

“Every indication was that he was coming back home,” she said. “There were just things that do not make sense. There was money sitting on the table. The neighbors said he was planning on coming back. He was just running to the store.”

Loni Hall said the family waited a few days to hear from Kyle. They became increasingly concerned when his girlfriend and close friends could not get in touch with him.

“There are certain people he always stays in contact with,” Loni Hall said.

Officer Karl Ratcliff, spokesman for the Lafayette Police Department, confirmed the agency is investigating Kyle Hall’s disappearance. No further details about the investigation were immediately available.

Kyle is a “jack of all trades,” his sister said. He has worked as a salesperson, including vehicle sales. He has also traveled regularly and has many talents, including construction work.

Loni Hall said she was especially appreciative for the support of Charlene Shunick, whose sister, Mickey Shunick, disappeared from Lafayette in May 2012. Mickey’s body was found several weeks later in Evangeline Parish. Her killer, Brandon Scott Lavergne, is serving a life sentence in prison.

Since then, Charlene Shunick has worked with families of missing persons and victims of violence.

“Lafayette is such a great town, and Charlene genuinely has her entire heart in helping people,” Hall said. “She was a catalyst for helping me figure out the next step. She is just incredible.”
