LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – You can expect more changes to the traffic pattern on Verot School Road. Crews are widening the road from Feu Follet to Vincent Road. The $35 million project now enters the home stretch.
DOTD District Administrator Bill Oliver said crews are working on the inside lanes of Verot School Road from Rue Louis XIV to West Pinhook Road. Traffic has been moved to the outside lanes. This part of the project will take about three to four weeks.
Starting this Friday, crews will close Digby Avenue going to Comeaux High School for about three weeks so they can build an outside turnout lane.
In three or four weeks, Oliver said traffic will be moved to the outside lanes from Failla Road to Rue Louis XIV. Crews will begin working on the middle section.
South of Ambassador Caffery Parkway, crews are putting in sidewalks and installing street lights. It should take about two months to finish the work.
The final section of work will be done from Failla road to Ambassador Caffery parkway.
In three to four weeks, crews will begin working on the middle section between Rue Louis XIV and South Beadle Road.
Oliver said the entire project should be completed by spring 2019 – weather dependent.
