The Office of Motor Vehicles is now offering a link on their website,www.expresslane.org, that will allow customers to cancel the license plate on their vehicle without having to visit an OMV office. Customers will need to enter the VIN, plate number, and zip code of the registered owner of the vehicle. After entering the required information, simply print a receipt and discard the license plate. A direct link to this service can be found at expresslane.dps.louisiana.gov/Cancel_…/Cancel_Plates_01.aspx.
OMV will also be extending office hours to accommodate the overwhelming demand for OMV services due to flooded vehicles. The following office locations will be open from 8am – 6pm beginning September 6th through September 9th. The same locations will also be open from 8am – 4pm Saturday September 10th:
