A Crowley man died early Saturday morning in a car crash in Acadia Parish. Police say 24-year-old Brock Joseph Simon, was a passenger in a vehicle that was traveling west on Standard Mill Road, hit a ditch and landed on a truck parked in a driveway. Authorities say Simon was transported to Acadia General Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
The driver of the vehicle has been identified as 23-year-old Lance Wagner of Crowley. Police say Wagner was traveling at a high rate of speed and attempted to turn south from Standard Mill Road onto East Park Drive when the accident occured. According to Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon, charges against the driver are expected pending the results of the toxicology test.
