Authorities in Acadia Parish are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a Plaquemine man wanted in connection with a shooting that took place at the Kathy Apartment Complex in Crowley on Saturday morning.
According to Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon following an investigation into Saturday’s shooting, Investigators with the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office have obtained warrants of arrests for 29 year old Gevin Louis Varise of the 57000 block of Canal Street, Plaquemine, LA.
Varise is being charged with Attempted 1st Degree Murder, 2 counts of attempted armed robbery, convicted felon in possession of a firearm and attempted aggravated burglary.
Melancon stated that Investigators have also issued warrants for the arrests of Varise in connection with an armed robbery that took place at Kathy Apartments and was reported by the victim on January 6, 2015. Varise is also being charged with two counts of armed robbery, convicted felon in possession of a firearm and aggravated burglary.
According to investigators nothing was taken in the April 25th shooting while money and a watch were taken during the January 6th armed robbery.
