Corrections Director Rob Reardon to leave LPSO

(The Daily Advertiser) – After nearly 15 years managing the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center along with the diversionary and rehabilitation programs brought on by Lafayette Parish Sheriff Mike Neustrom, Director of Corrections Rob Reardon is leaving the sheriff’s office.

Reardon said his last day will be June 30, one day before Sheriff-elect Mark Garber is sworn in.

Garber told The Advertiser last week he’s brought on Cathy Fontenot, who spent 20 years working at the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola, to be warden of the jail.

Prior to working at the sheriff’s office, Reardon was a transition commander during the construction of a large high-rise jail in Minneapolis, and worked in juvenile, work release and correctional centers.

As for the future, Reardon said he’d like to go somewhere he can help people before they enter the criminal justice system.
