The Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a shooting that took place in Breaux Bridge on Johnston Road late Tuesday night.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a complaint of someone driving over the bridge recklessly, shortly before midnight where gunshots were also heard.
According to deputies, one person left right before they arrived and was taken to the hospital for a non-life threatening gunshot wound related to the incident. The subject was later released from the hospital.
During the investigation, Deputies booked another subject on scene, Andrew Granger, 20, of Abbeville into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center. He was discovered to be wanted by the Abbeville Police Department for two counts of attempted second degree murder, aggravated criminal damage to property, and felon in possession of a firearm.
The possession of a firearm charge was related to an incident earlier on February 6th in Abbeville.
Investigation on the shooting is still ongoing.
